Insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
A female bodybuilder training for a competition began to experience weakness and numbness every afternoon. She went to her primary care physician a total of eight times, receiving diagnoses ranging from the flu, to pneumonia. After repeated blood tests, she was prescribed medicine and rest, all to no avail. Finally, she mentioned the symptoms to her trainer, who determined that one of the supplements she was taking was causing her symptoms. He instructed her to stop taking the supplements. Three days later, she was back to normal.
The point of the story is that, in any other area, the bodybuilder would not have returned to the same professional eight times for the same problem, but she did it because he was her doctor. Would you take your car to the same mechanic after he failed to fix the same issue multiple times? Of course not. If ever in a similar situation, you should consider your alternatives and not just automatically repeat the same unsuccessful treatment over and over again.
