A   lawsuit has been filed against the Whitefish Mountain Resort   ski area over a statue of Jesus Christ placed on the mountain   on a small parcel of federal land by a local chapter of the   Knights of Columbus. The lawsuit claims the statue, which has been on the mountain since 1955, “violates the Establishment   Clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the   United States” and is obviously a religious symbol.Proponents of the statue say it has historical value and significance to   the community.   Tristan   Scott, Missoulian   02/09/2012
