Stryker Corporation is a medical device maker of such products as hip implants, knee replacement systems, bone substitutes and various other medical software. Problems with the company’s hip devices first arose in January 2005. At that time, consumers began complaining of several notable problems with the hip implants, including severe pain around the surgical site, uneven or displaced wearing of the implants, clicking, popping and squeaking joints in hip implants with ceramic bearing components.
