Starting this Fall, Johnson & Johnson will be changing the Extra Strength Tylenol warning labels, reducing the recommended dose from no more than 8 to no more than 6 pills per 24 hour period. This change is being made in order to prevent over dosage of acetaminophen. Prior studies reveal that acetaminophen can be very harmful to a person’s liver in even small regular dosages, especially if combined with other medications and/or alcohol. You should take Tylenol, (acetaminophen) any strength, with caution and only when needed. This should not be something you take on a regular basis and it is always a good idea to consult any over the counter medications with you doctor. If you have experienced any medical problems from taking Tylenol regularly, or have experienced any type of overdose from medication given to you by a doctor or pharmacy, and have questions concerning the events and your legal rights, please contact our office immediately.
