Recent study shows that women, ages 40 – 49, who have breast cancer found on a mammogram have a better prognosis, earlier diagnosis and
better outcome than those who find it themselves on physical exam or by a doctor.
This study further knocks the information reported years ago by the Task Force who has been trying to dissuade women from getting mammograms in their 40’s, as well as yearly mammograms for those over 50! It appears that their motives seem driven by saving money for costly testing than by the medicine and evidence itself.
So, read the attached article and be SURE you push to get your yearly mammogram starting at age 40, earlier if you have a family history, as
the American Cancer Society still continues to back these recommendations. If you, or anyone you know, was misdiagnosed for breast
cancer, please contact our office to discuss your legal rights today.
