The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall of about 12,000 lacrosse helmets due to a defect in the chin bar that can lead to facial injuries. Imported by Easton Sports, the agency said the helmet’s chin bar can break off upon impact with a ball or lacrosse stick, posing a risk of facial or jaw injury. There have been six reports of the chin bars breaking, and one reported laceration. Staff Report, PR Newswire 03/22/2012
