Yes – I am aware that An American Horror Story is a TV show on the FX channel.   And I know a lot of people love it….

But today I want to talk about a different American Horror Story – one that millions of people experience every year, and one which about 25% of them (by some estimates) are injured by.

That is – hospitalization.

This week has been the perfect storm of awareness as to the problems we patients encounter when we are hospitalized. It seems that, after all these years, those dirty little secrets may begin to see the light – AND – hospitals might finally have to begin doing something about them.
